6 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election is to be held in the
7 City of Carlsbad on April 8, 1958, at which there will be submitted to the
8 qualified electors of said city the following city measure:

PROPOSITION A - CONTRACT AMENDMENT:
10 Shall the City Council be authorized to amend the Agreement of Purchase
between the City of Carlsbad and the Carlsbad MutuajL Water Company
11 (Dated August 30, 1957 and approved by the voters of the City December 17,
1957 and on file in the office of the City Clerk) by striking therefrom the
12 provision requiring litigation, to wit:
13 "(c) The power of the City and of the Mutual respectively,
to enter into, and carry out the terms of, this agreement
14 has been established by a decree of a court of competent
jurisdiction," ?

16 NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that pursuant to Article 4, Chapter ;
17 Division 4 of the Elections Code of the State of California the legislative
18 body of said city, or any member or members thereof authorized by such
19 body, or any individual voter or bona fide associations, may file written.
20 arguments, not to exceed 300 words in length, for or against each said city
21 measure.
22 NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that, based upon the time reasonably
23 necessary to prepare and print the arguments and sample ballots for said
24 election, the City Clerk has fixed March 11, 1958, 5:00 o'clock P.M. , as a
25 reasonable date and time prior to such election after which no arguments
26 for or against said city measures may be submitted to him for printing and
27 distribution to the voters as provided in said Article 4. Arguments shall
28 be submitted to the City Clerk at 2960 Pio Pico Drive, Carlsbad, California.
29 Arguments may be changed until and including said date fixed by the City Clerk
