FOR OR AGAINST A CITY MEASURE

QUE NINGUNOS ARGUMENTOS PRO 0 CONTRA UN PROYECTO
MUNICIPAL PUEDEN SER SOMETIDOS AL SECRETARIO MUNICIPAL)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the General Municipal Election is
to be held in the City of Carlsbad on April 8, 1980, at which time
there will be submitted to the qualified electors of said City the
following measures:
"Shall the Office of City Clerk be appointive?"
"Shall the Office of City Treasurer be apointive?"
"Recommendation by the City of Carlsbad to Governor and
Legislature to distribute an additional one cent of existing
sales tax to cities and counties: Shall the Governor and
State Legislature be advised to distribute an additional
one cent of the existing six cents sales and use tax to cities
and counties for local purposes?"
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that pursuant to Article 4, Chapter 3,
Division 5 of the Elections Code of the State of California, the
legislative body of said City, or any member or members thereof
authorized by such body, or any individual voter or bona fide
association of citizens, or any combination of such voters and asso-
ciations, may file a written argument, not to exceed 300 words in
length, for or against said City measure.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that, based upon the time reasonably
necessary to prepare and print the arguments and sample ballots
for said election, the City Clerk has fixed February 5, 1980, as a
reasonable date prior to such election after which no arguments for
or against said City measure may be submitted to her for printing
and distribution to the voters as provided in said Article 4. Argu-
ments shall be submitted to the City Clerk at the City Hall, Carls-
bad, California. Arguments may be changed or withdrawn until and
including said date fixed by the City Clerk.
(NOTICIA SE DA ESTE MEDIO que tendril lugar la General Eleccion
Municipal en la Ciudad de Carlsbad el dfa 8 de Abril de 1980, en
la que serli sometidQ a los electores calificados de susodicha Ciudad
el siguiente proyecto Municipal):
"Sera la Oficina de El Secretario Municipal seffal ado?"
"Serl la Oficina de El Tesorero Municipal seTfal ado?"
"Recomendaci'on de la Ciudad de Carlsbad para Gobernador y
Legislature para distribuir un centavo adicional al existiendo
impuesto sobre las ventas a las ciudades y condados. Ser'a
el Gobernador y la Legislature del Estado avisado que repartan
un centavo adicional del existiendo seis centavos de ventas y
usar impuestos para ciudades y condados para prop'o'sitos locales?"
(NOTICIA ADEMAS SE DA que de acuerdo con el Artfculo 4, Caprtulo
3, Division 5 del Codigo de Elecciones del Estado de California, el
cuerpo legislative de dicha Ciudad, o cualquier socio de socios de
eso autorizados por dicho cuerpo, o cualquier votante individual o
bona fide asociacio'n de ciudananos, o cualquier combinacitfn de tales
votantes y asociaciones, puede registrar un argumento escrito, que
no excederoi 300 palabras de largura, pro o contra dicho proyecto
Municipal.)
(NOTICIA ADEMAS SE DA que, basada sobre el tiempo razonable-
mente necesario para preparar e imprimir los argumentos y las balotas
muestra para dicha eleccit)n, el Secretario Municipal ha fijado el
dfa 5 de Febrero de 1980, como una fecha razonable anterior a dicha
eleccitfn despu'es de la que ningunos argumentos pro o contra dicho
proyecto Municipal pueden ser sometidos a el para imp resign y distri-
buci^n a los votantes como provisto en dicho Artfculo 4. Argumentos
deben ser sometidos al Secretario Municipal en el Ayuntamiento, Carls-
bad, California. Los Argumentos pueden ser cambiados o retirados
hasta y incluyendo dicha fecha fijada por el Secretario Municipal.)
