Revision to Recommendations for
Special Design for
Exoansive Soil Conditions

Gentlemen:
This is to present a revision to our recommendations for construction on expansive soil
conditions presented on page 2 of our previous report on this project doted March 24,
1972.
Item 4 of these recommendations should be revised to read OS follows:
Reinforce all concrete slobs with a minimum of 6 x 6 - lo/IO
welded wire fabric and provide a base layer of at least 4 inches
of, 3/4 to 1 inch size crushed rock beneath all concrete slabs.
A moisture barrier of 6 mil or thicker polyethylene should be
placed over the crushed rock and then 2 inches of sand should be
placed over the moisture barrier and below the bottom of the
slab.
This same recommendation also applies to Type “B” lots on this subdivision.
