RE: Cannon Road, Carlsbad, CA
We are submitting for your approval on the above referenced project, the use of Rainproof Systems
Acryseal water repellent and Graffitiraser System graffiti resistant coating and cleaning system. Enclosed
please find six copies of the technical data sheets and application instructions for Acryseal and the
Graffitiraser, along with six copies of this letter.
Acryseal and the Graffitiraser System has been used on a wide range of similar projects, including the
following six recent ones:
North Hollywood Police Station, North Hollywood, CA
City of Los Angeles Fire Station #111 and #112, Los Angeles, CA
East Rancho Dominguez Gymnasium and Community Center, Compton, CA
Anaheim Community Center, Anaheim, CA
Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse, Temecula, CA
Albertson's Market, Hesperia, CA
Acryseal water repellent is our modified silano-acrylic resin water repellent. We offer a five-year
manufacturer's limited warranty against water intrusion with this product, providing the warranty
conditions, such as pre-application inspection, are met.
The Graffitiraser System is a three-coat system consisting of two coats of very hard acrylic Graffitibase
topped with one coat of Graffiticatcher. When an area has been attacked, Graffitiraser is used to clean the
Graffiticatcher coat off along with the graffiti. The Graffiticatcher coat is then reapplied and the area is
ready for the next attack. No hot water is needed for cleaning, and only the area with graffiti needs to be
cleaned. The system does not does not yellow or attract dirt or dust. In fact, protected areas remain
remarkably clean with normal rain. The Graffitiraser System has been approved by the City of Los Angeles
RR#25030T.
Please give us a call if you have any questions or need any additional information.
Sincerely,
Dorothy Lofstr m

GRAFFITIRASER SYSTEM
Graffiti Resistant Coating & Cleaning System
Application Instructions
Surface Preparation: All surfaces should be dry, and free from efflorescence, dust, dirt, oil, and
grease. Concrete should be thoroughly cured before application, usually a minimum of 30 days. All
cracks, voids, beeholes, or mortar shrinkage shall be property repaired and primed, if necessary, to
make the surface uniform. Form oils should be removed completely and Slick surfaces must be de-
glossed.
Failing or unsound existing coatings must be removed.
Concrete block that has been sealed first with Rainproof Aciyseal WD water repellent, must
be allowed to dry for 48 hours before application of Graffitibase.
Safety: Graffiticatcher and Graffitiraser contain solvents. Avoid fire, open flame, and sparks. Use
with adequate ventilation or OSHA approved respirator. Gloves should be used. Wash thoroughly
after handling. Consult Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before handling for complete product
safety information.
Application of Graffitibase:
Clear Graffitibase must be applied with an airless spray, tip size 0.015 to 0.021. Pigmented
Graffitibase may be sprayed, brushed, or rolled.
Cross-linker should be added to the Graffitibase according to instructions on can. Life of cross-
linked material is 8 hours.
C). Graffitibase must be applied in overlapping passes to build a heavy film and evenly coat all pores
and textured areas with no skips. Avoid runs, sags and curtains.
It is recommended that a small area be coated and allowed to dry, so that the application is visibly
acceptable before the rest of the application is completed.
Allow 2 hours drying time before applying second coat of Graffitibase. This second, lighter
coat is necessary to build up a minimum dry film thickness of 3 mils.
Application of GraffitIcatcher.
. Allow Graffitibase to dry at least 5 hours at 65° F before applying Graffiticatcher.
Graffiticatcher should be applied by airless spray or roller. Spray method is most efficient for original
application and roller is best for touch-up and renewal. (Fluted and scored blocks cannot be
covered with roller and must be sprayed.)
Apply sufficient Graffiticatcher to give an even, uniform coating over all surfaces. Close inspection
should reveal all pores and textured areas to be well covered.
Split face concrete block may require two coats of Graffiticatcher.
Protection of surrounding areas:
Mask windows and all other surfaces that are not to be treated.
. Take special care to protect cars and other painted surfaces.
Bushes, shrubs and trees should be protected.

after handling. Consult Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before handling for complete product
safety information.
Graffiti Removal: Minor marks and stains can often be removed with soap and water or mild paint
thinners with no further work. More severe graffiti, such as spray paints, require Graffitiraser. for
cleanup. Do not use Graffitiraser if Graffiticatcher was not used.
To remove graffiti obtain a soft brush, rags, a pail of mineral spirits type paint thinner, and
Graffitiraser.
Apply Graffitiraser to a small area of the attack. It is better to do small areas to control run off of the
solution.
Immediately after application, rub the area with the soft brush and rinse with a rag saturated with
thinner. Repeat this procedure until all graffiti is removed. Wipe with a dry rag to remove any
remaining solvent.
Graffitiraser can be applied with a Hudson pump type sprayer or with a brush, or roller. You can
also rinse with thinner sprayed from another Hudson pump type sprayer.

Application Instructions
Surface Preparation: All surfaces should be sound, dry, and free from efflorescence, excessive dust, dirt, oil,
and grease. Concrete should be thoroughly cured before application, usually a minimum of 30 days. Hardened
grout and mortar smears should be removed with sandblasting. Defective mortar joints should be routed out,
pointed with new mortar, and tooled. All voids, beeholes, and cracks larger than hairline should be filled with dry-
vinyl cement patching material mixed with water to a stiff paste. A minimum of 10 days, under dry weather
conditions should be allowed for curing of grout and mortar.
Moisture Content: Acryseal should not be applied to surfaces where moisture content is above 15%.
A minimum of four to seven days drying time should be allowed following rainfall. Do not apply if rainfall is
expected within 24 hours.
Temperature: Acryseal should not be applied when surface temperature is below 450 F or above 1000
F. Under freezing conditions, buildings should be allowed adequate time to thaw. Do not apply if
temperature is expected to fall below freezing within 24 hours.
Safety: Consult Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for complete product safety information.
Application: Acryseal is not to be applied like paint, rather it is to be flood coated. The objective is to get
the wall to absorb the material at the rate of at least that shown in the Coverage Table on the Technical Data
Sheet (50 sq. ft. per gallon for concrete block).
Apply with low pressure material pump or airless sprayer. Spray pressure should be no more than 25 psi at
/ all times. Flow rate should be at least 1 1/2 gallons per minute.
. Recommended tip size: Block-0.070-0.125"; Brick-0.050-0.070"; Concrete/Stucco-0.030-0.050".
Start application at top of wall and work down surface.
Normal application consists of a light mist coat to break surface tension followed immediately by a flood coat.
One flood coat pass shall be made each way over the top section of the wall so that the top course of block
receives the equivalent of a Urun down and flood coat." Overlapping horizontal passes shall then be made
down the wall.
The spray head should be held so that the fan will be vertical with the head about 8" inches from the surface
so that the flood coat runs down at least 8" below the point of application. No bending of the wrist is to
be allowed.
Always keep a wet edge. Do not overspray into already dry areas. If a second coat is needed, apply before
the first coat is dry.
Protection of surrounding areas: Mask windows and all other surfaces that are not to be sealed. If contact
occurs, wipe immediately with dean, damp cloth. Overspray should be cleaned up as soon as possible. Use
warm water while material is still wet.
All horizontal surfaces composed of concrete or asphalt should be protected by thoroughly saturating with
water just prior to spraying adjacent walls. Wash them down with water after application of material.
(I). Bushes, shrubs and trees should be protected.

"PERMA.SEAL"
Protective Coating and Sealant
PERMA-SEAL Is a water based permanent coating and sealant, containing siloxane.
PERMA-SEAL provides permanent protection for surfaces such as, concrete, brick, block, wood, and natural
stone.
PERMA-SEAL dries to a clear, and virtually undetectable finish. PERMA-SEAL breathes, so moisture is allowed
to evaporate from within concrete block.
PERMA-SEAL is guaranteed to protect for five years, but can have a useful life of up to 15 years. This life will
vary depending on. application techniques, and type of surface.
PERMA-SEAL is e*tremeiy effective when used for preventing damage on traffic signs due to slickers.
PERMA-SEAL is a water based. non-toxic. environmentally friendly product and contains No VOCS:
APPLICATION:
Thoroughly clean area to be treated. Apply PERMA-SEAL with a brush, roller, garden sprayer, or low pressure
spray gun. For best results, PERMA-SEAL should be apiied in one to three rnodiiiale coals, so that the area is
completely coated, allowing surface to become tacky between applicatins. Drying time will depend on
temperature, humidity, and type of surface. Maximum protection Is achieved after 7 to 10 days curing time, and
should be protected from any liquid. or water during the curing process.
PERMA-SEAL should be used at full strength.
REMOVING GRAFFITI FROM PROTECTED SURFACE:
Use medium to high pressure hot waler. If any ghosting remains apply AA-029 to area needing treatment, allow
a few minutes to work. Hose off with water at low to medium pressure.
RUBBER GLOVES. AND EYE PROTECTION SHOULD BE USED WHEN SPRAY EQUIPMENT IS USED.
COVERAGE:
An average of 500 square feet per gallon I per coat, depending on type of surface treated.
