Report of Relative Compaction Tests, Subgrade and
Base Material, proposed Depot Parking Lot, Grand
and State Streets, Carlsbad, California.
In accordance with your request, this report has been prepared
to report the results of the relative compaction tests
Iperformed in the subgrade and base material at the subject
Isite by Southern California Soil & Testing, Inc. These tests
jwere performed on June 3 and June 4, 1986.

IjField density tests were taken by Southern California Soil &
Testing, Inc. in the subgrade and base material at various
locations chosen by our field representative. The locations
and results of the field tests are shown on the attached
plates.
lMaximum dry density determinations were performed on
'representative samples of the soils used in the subgrade and

base materials according to A.S.T.M. Test 1557-78, Method C.
The results of these tests, as presented on Plate Number 3,
were used in conjunction with the field density tests to
determine the percent of relative compaction of the compacted
subgrade and base materials.
