In accordance with your authorization, GeoSoils, Inc. (GSI) is presenting this interim final report of rough grading, including sitework performed for the upper pad area of the proposed structure. Grading and processing of original ground within the building footprint, within the Street level floor/garage area portion of the building, was observed and selectively tested by a representative of GSl during the earthwork phase of development for the subject property. The work performed to date appears to be in general conformance with the recommendations contained in Reference Nos. 1, 5, and 6, and with the grading ordinance of the City of Carlsbad, California, from a geotechnical standpoint. Field testing generally indicates that fills placed under the purview of this report, where tested, have been compacted to a minimum 90 percent relative compaction per ASTM D- 1557. A final summary compaction report of rough grading for the project is forthcoming. Expansion testing of soils exposed near building pad grade indicate an expansion index (El) of less than 20. Unless specifically superceded herein, the conclusions and recommendations with respect to foundation design/construction, presented in Reference Nos. 2, 3, 5, and 6 remain pertinent and applicable and should be appropriately implemented during project planning, design, and construction. Unless specifically superseded herein, the conclusions and recommendations presented in the referenced reports by GSI remain valid and applicable. The conclusions and recommendations presented herein are professional opinions. These opinions have been derived in accordance with current standards of practice, and no warranty, either express or implied, is given. Standards of practice are subject to change with time. GSI assumes no responsibility or liability for work or testing performed by others, or their inaction; or work performed when GSI is not requested to be onsite, to evaluate if our recommendations have been properly implemented. This report may be subject to review by the controlling authorities. Ms. Veronica DeAnda W.O. 6612-B-SC APN 155-140-41, Carlsbad November 7, 2014 Page
