The Consultant should review the project foundation plans, provide any additional geotechnical recommendations considered necessary, and confirm that the plans have been prepared in accordance with the geotechnical recommendations provided in the referenced repmts. We have reviewed the structural and foundation plans prepared by Mike Suprenant and Associates dated August 11, 2017 (revised 6/4/19) for the new single family residence with detached garage for the aforementioned address. Specifically, we have reviewed sheets S-1, S-2, S-3, SD-1 and SD-6 of the structural plans. We certify that the plans have been prepared in accordance with the geotechnical recommendations provided in the referenced report for the subject property 148 Tamarack, Carlsbad, CA 92008. " Issue #3 3. The Consultant should provide a complete I ist of recommended observation and testing during site grading and construction. The following list of observation and testing is recommended to be performed during grading and construction of the project: • Pre-grading inspection and pre-grading meeting with grading contractor to check that grading limits conform to those specified in the project plans. • Inspection of bottom of excavation key for the remedial removal and recompaction of the proposed building pads. • Continuous observation of site soil conditions to check that the subsurface conditions and soil properties conform to those specified in the approved geotechnical reports. • Continuous observation of engineered fill placement and compaction per Section IV of the General Earthwork and Grading Guidelines listed on the approved geotechnical report. Field density testing for compaction of the engineered fill shall be performed in accordance with ASTM D1556 or ASTM D6938 methods. • Inspection of bottom of footings trenches to be satisfactory to achieve the design bearing capacity.
