In accordance with the requirements of the City of Carlsbad, we have performed laboratory tests on
representative samples of the import Class 2 Aggregate Base (AB) material placed on a portion of
Palmetto Drive, Live Oaks Dive and Plumeria Drive within Bressi Ranch Planning Area PA-12
located in Carlsbad, California. Three representative samples of the Class 2 AB were sampled and
transported to our laboratory. Laboratory tests performed on the representative samples included
sand equivalent (in accordance with ASTM Test Method D2419) and sieve analysis (in
accordance with ASTM Test Method C136). The results of the laboratory tests are presented on
the attached tables.
Based on the City of Carlsbad requirements and the Caltrans specifications (Section 26-1.02A) as
indicated on the tables, the representative Class 2 aggregate base samples generally met the city
requirements. However, all three samples were slightly out of specification with respect to the
percent passing the No. 200 sieve (i.e. 1- to 2-percent over the maximum value).
