A LEIGHTON GROUP COMPANY April 21, 2004 Project No. 971009-017 To: Lennar Communities 1525 Faraday Avenue, Suite 300 Carlsbad, California 92008 Attention: Ms. Kristine Zortman Subject: Results of Laboratory Tests on Proposed Import Class 2 Aggregate Base Sample from the Camp Pendleton 3-mile Pit for the Bressi Ranch Project, Carlsbad, California References: Caltrans, 1992, Standard Specifications, July 1992 Carlsbad, City of, 1996, Standards for Design and Construction of Public Works Improvements in the City of Carlsbad, California, Project No. 05332-12-01, dated April 20, 1993, revised December 10, 1996 In accordance with the requirements of the City of Carlsbad, we have performed laboratory tests on a sample of the proposed import Class 2 Aggregate Base (AB) material from the Camp Pendleton 3-mile pit to be used on the backbone streets of the Bressi Ranch Project located in Carlsbad, California. One representative sample of the Class 2 AB being produced at the Camp Pendleton 3- mile pit was obtained and transported to our laboratory. Laboratory tests performed on the representative sample included sand equivalent (in accordance with ASTM Test Method D2419) and sieve analysis (in accordance with ASTM Test Method C136). The results of the laboratory tests are presented on Table 1.
