Dear Mr. Mitchell:
In accordance with a request from Mr. John Teeple, GeoSoils, Inc. {GSI}, has reviewed the
comments from the City of Carlsbad, as well as other geotechnical and related documents,
indicated in the attached References (see the Appendix), with respect to the development
of Village E-1, in the City of Carlsbad, California. .
The findings, conclusions and recommendations presented in our referenced report (GSI,
2000) and the report prepared by Southern California Soils and Testing, Inc. (SCS& T, 1992),
are considered valid and applicable with respect to proposed grading, as shown on the
current grading plans (Drawing No. 405-6A) for the subject site. The findings, conclusions
and recommendations presented in our referenced report was developed with respect to
the 1997 edition of the Uniform Building Code (UBC, 1997) and is therefore, also
considered to be in general compliance with the California Building Code (CBC, 2001),
from a geotechnical viewpoint.
The conclusions and recommendations presented are professional opinions. These
opinions have been derived in accordance with current standards of practice and no
warranty is expressed or implied. Standards of practice are subject to change with time.
