Shea industrial, Plan Check Set, Dwg 487-8A (Sheets 1 through 13), Excel Engineering, Project SDP 15-09, Undated, Unsealed ("Excel 2015") Dear Mr. Peterson: The undersigned verifies that the earthworks on the pad for the proposed building at 6133 Innovation Way, Carlsbad, CA were installed upon a competent and properly prepared base material and compacted under surveillance of representatives of NOVA Services, Inc., working under my supervision, and in accordance with the requirements of the initial geotechnical report (Leighton 2014), update letter (Leighton 2015a), and addendum (Leighton 2015d). The pad is underlain by compacted fill material that was observed and tested by our firm. Certification is limited by the following: Grading. The certification does not represent that the completed pad is constructed to within the required tolerances for proper rough grade level or within the horizontal limits of the drawings. Pad Maintenance. This certification is contingent on proper maintenance of the completed pad prior to construction of the ground supported slab. This pad certification is valid for a period of 60 days from the date of this letter, provided the pad is protected from construction and weather.
