Final Report of Testing and Observation Services Performed During Site Grading, Villages of La Costa - The Ridge, Neighborhood 2.5, Carlsbad, California, prepared by Geocon Incorporated, dated December 29, 2005 (Project No. 07290- 52-01). 2. Updated Seismic Design Parameters and Post-Tensioned Design Criteria, Villages of La Costa - The Ridge, Neighborhood 2.5, Lots 33 through 66, Carlsbad, California, prepared by Geocon Incorporated, dated November 6, 2009 (Project No. 07290-52-13). Dear Mr. Jansen: In accordance with the request of Mr. Greg Jones, we have prepared this letter to summarize our observation and testing services performed on the subject lots to facilitate building construction. Geocon Incorporated provided observation and compaction testing services during re-grading of the subject lots. To summarize, the upper approximately 1-foot of previously placed compacted fill was scarified, moisture conditioned, and recompacted in order to re-establish a finished lot condition prior to building construction. The building pad portions of Lots 33 through 50 have been recently completed. The re-grading operations for the remaining lots are on-going. A final report of testing and observation services, including the field and laboratory test results, will be prepared once the remainder of the re-grading has been completed. In-place density tests were performed using a nuclear gauge in accordance with ASTM Test Designation D 2922-05. Laboratory compaction tests were performed on soil samples in accordance with ASTM Test Designation D 1557-07. Results of the in-place density tests indicate that the compacted fill materials possess a dry density of at least 90 percent of the laboratory maximum dry density near to slightly above the optimum moisture contents at the locations tested. 6960 Flanders Drive IN Son Diego, California 92121-2974 E Telephone (858) 558-6900 U Fax (858) 558-6159 Trevor E.
