Gentlemen:
As recommended in our original geotechnical report, representative samples of the soils
used for fill were obtained fromV the completed building pads and were submitted .toa
subcontracted anValytical laboratory for soluble sulfate testing. The purpose of this V V

V testing was to determine if the quantities of soluble sulfates present V in the fill soils are'
V sufficient to indicate a potential for the 'attack of exposed concrete. The recent test V
rsults are as folows:

These levels of soluble sulfates are co'nsidered to represent negligible 'to severe
V V ' potential to attack concrete, in accordance With, Portland Cement Association (PCA)
VF and Uniform Building Code (UBC) guidelines. Therefore, specialized sulfate resistant V
r concrete mix designs will be necessary. Based on, the results of the 'teting indicating
severe sulfate concentrations, with respect to Uniform Building Code and Portland
V Cement Association: (PCA) guidelines, the UBC requires that all concrete whichwill
come into contact with these soils incorporate the following characteristics
