(2015). Geotechnical Investigation, Marbrisa Resorts - Phase Ill, Grand Pacific Resorts, Carlsbad, California, MTGL Project No. 1916A11 , Log No. 15-1063, April24. Dear Mr. Arnold: Per your request, we are providing supplemental geotechnical recommendations for the Phase Ill project to be located at the Grand Pacific Resorts, Carlsbad, California. We previously performed a geotechnical investigation of the site and presented our results in the referenced report. This letter provides geotechnical recommendations for any bio-retention basin or bio-swales that are planned for the site Remedial grading is recommended for the site which will use the on-site soils as compacted fill. The soils that are anticipated to be used as engineered fill consist of silty sand, clayey sand and sandy clay. Based on our experience with the on-site soils, the compacted fill materials are expected to have a very low permeability and very low infiltration characteristics which would make them unsuitable for infiltration of storm water runoff. Any bio-retention basins or bio-swales that are planned for the site should be designed by the project civil engineer.
