Dear Mr. Arnold:
As requested, this letter presents our recommendations for earthwork for the
proposed pool slide (References). We understand the pool slide will be
located on the Marbrisa Phase II pool deck, already constructed. The pool
slide will be supported on a mound of fill, with decorative boulders and
planting on the mound's surface.
Compaction Recommendations
, All fill materials should be compacted to at least 90 percent of maximum dry
density as determined by ASTM Test Method Dl 557. Fill materials should be
placed in loose lifts, no greater than 8 inches thickness, prior to applying
compaction effort. All engineered fill materials should be moisture-
conditioned and processed as necessary to achieve a uniform moisture
content that is slightly above optimum moisture content and within moisture
limits required to achieve adequate bonding between lifts.
FIii Recommendations
Fill material should have an expansion index of less than 50, be free or organic
or deleterious materials and should not contain rocks or lumps of a greater
dimension than 4 inches
