The fills were placed dul.i”g tile period between Frb~-ua~y 28 ond March 11, 1977. The filled ground v/as placed under our inspection in accordance with the approved specifications. The grading plan used For the placement of filled ground was p~wpared bv Rick Engineering Cornpow:. The approximate locations at which the tests WC~E take” and the Final test results are present& on page 3, under the “Table of Test Results. ” The laborutorv deternlinutio”s of the maximum Iii-x,, densities and optimum moist!~;rc contents oi the major fill motel~ials al-e presented on page 3, under the “Laboratory Test Results. ” Some of the moximurm dt~\, densities shown i” the ‘,ioble of Test Results’; wcl-e com!>inotio”s of these. It /has been determined that the iill material;, compacted to 90 percent of the maximum Jrv densit,i, have a safe bcaz~ing value OF ct least 1000 pounds per sc;uare foot for one foot wide continuous iootings founded at o depth OF G inches below the lowest adjacent iinol compacted ground suriace and placed Ifive feet or mol~e inside the top OF compacted Filled ground slopes. Tests indicate that the compacted filled ground is adequate to satisfactorily support the proposed one and two story wood frame dwellings without detrimental settlements. Expansive soil conditions exist in the upper three feet below finished grade. It is understood that the post-tension slab system, to be used for supp, ort of these houses, has been designed to minimize possible detrimental effects caused by the potentially expansive soil conditions. A plan showing the approximate areas and depths of Filled ground placed under our inspection in accordance with the approved specifications will be submitted with our final report on this project.
