LIBRARY City of Carlsbad Gentlemen: 2075 Las Palmas Drive Carlsbad CA920094859 This letter summarizes the results of our testing and observation services performed during fine grading of Lots 21 & 22 of Carlsbad Airport Centre, Unit 1 on June 27, 1989 and July 5, 1989. The grading contractor for this work was Naton Engineering. Civil Engineering was provided by Bodas Engineering. Areas which received fill were scarified and moisture conditioned prior to fill placement. Fill soils were moistened to near optimum moisture content and compacted. Equipment used for compaction consisted of a blade and water truck. - - ,- The approximate test locations are shown on the attached Site Plan, Figure 1. Density tests were performed in accordance with ASTM D2922-81 and D3017-78 (Nuclear Methods). Maximum density and optimum moisture relationships were determined using ASTM D1557-78 (Modified Proctor). Results of laboratory tests are contained in Table 1, and field density tests are shown in Table II. A SUSSlDlARY OFTHE IRVINE CONSULTING GROUP, INC. 9240 TRADE PLACE, SUITE 100. SAN DIEGO, CA 92126.
