These services included securing one sample of subgrade soil for R-value testing. The R-value test was per- formed by Testing Engineers-San Diego. Test results are attached. The purpose of this work is to provide pavement recommendations on Hillside Drive within the subject project. It is our understanding that Hillside Drive should be classified as a collector (TI= 6.0). Street Hillside Drive Existing AC to Station 10+97 Asphalt Concrete (inches) 4 Class III Base (inches) 10 Prior to placing base materials, the subgrade should be scarified, moisture conditioned and compacted to a minimum of 90 percent relative compac,tion. The depth of compaction should be at least 6 inches. Class III base should conform to section 400-23 of the "Standard Specifications For Public Works Construction" (Green Book).
