Dear Sir: 3 Grading and processing of original ground within the building pad area for the Subject lots was observed and selectively tested by a representative of GeoSoils, Inc. during the earthwork phase of development for the subject property. The work performed Is In general conformance with the recommendations and methods presented In our referenced report, and with the grading ordinance of the City ot Carlsbad, California. Field testing indicates that fills placed under the purview of this rOport have been compacted to a minimum 90 percent relative compaction. Earth materials used to fill the desilting basins and bring lots to grade consisted of silty sands derived fiom footing trench spoils and finish lot pulls generated from other areas within Calavera Hills Village T North. This material is very low to low expansive (.l. <31) and has a negligible sulfate exposure to concrete (see the attached Table 1). Copies of field densitytestingeports are Included with this report for review. Observation and testing services were pro1ided on an on call basis, as requested by the contractor. Additional site specific lot conditions are presented in our referenced report dated January 14, 1999 and are presented herein on the attached Table 1. Since our study is based upon observations and selective testing, the conclusions presented herein are professional opinions. These opinions have been derived in accordance with current standards of practice and no warranty is expressed Or implied. Standards of practice are subject to change with time.
