E6927-SC," dated,August 19, 2015, by GeoSoils, Inc. Dear Mr. Howe: GeoSoils, Inc. (GSI) is providing this letter to address the subject email by the City of Carlsbad. The scope of our services has included a review of the referenced documents and City email, a site reconnaissance and visual observation of conditions in areas of formerfuel storage, photo-documentation of such, and preparation of this summary letter. Unless specifically superceded herein, the conclusion and recommendations contained in the referenced GSI reports remain pertinent and applicable, and should be appropriately implemented during planning, design, and construction. The subject email contained the verbiage: " ... this report from Applied Toxicology (July 18, 2018) does not address the HAZ-3 Mitigation Measure (see below) .... " The email contains the following table: HAZ-3 Once structures have been removed, soils shall be visually Prior to PLN/ENG n/a evaluated for the presence of staining in areas where fuel grading was formally stored. Any stained soil encountered during operations the redevelopment activities shall be further evaluated by an experienced environmental consultant prior to removal. Based on the above, a staff geologist from GSI visited the site on July 20, 2018 to observe the former storage areas for stained soil. The former structures on the site had been demolished, with the debris stockpiled in the immediate vicinity, and exposing the subsoils of the structures. Stained soil was not noted. Accordingly, no further action is the regard is deemed warranted. The opportunity to be of service is sincerely appreciated.
