Pursuant to Monitoring and Reporting Program No. 96-32, Paragraph J, and Notice of
Applicability dated November 20, 2017 we hereby submit the First Quarter 2018 Monitoring
Report for the 2018 Maintenance Dredge Cycle of the Outer Basin of Agua Hedionda Lagoon.
This submittal details the monitoring activities performed between February 16, 2018 and March
30, 2018. On February 16, 2018 dredging of the Outer Lagoon began with the spoils being
deposited to Carlsbad State Beach. During the First Quarter period between January 1 and
March 31, 2018, a total of 137,302 cubic yards of dredge spoils were removed and deposited on
the Carlsbad State Middle Beach Segment. A total volume of 137,302 cubic yards of dredge
spoils was removed during the First Quarter of 2018.

Compliance Statement
Beach Monitoring was conducted daily, weekly, and monthly while spoils were deposited
directly onto the beach. All turbidity measurements were in compliance with the operation
specifications identified in General Waste Discharge Requirements 96-32 and the appropriate
water quality standards. Further explanation can be found cited in the Field Sampling Summary
Report.
