This project involves re-grading the Calaveras Creek channel and Agua Hedionda Creek channel with in the Rancho Carlsbad Mobile Home Park (RCMHP) to the original design configuration as well as the construction of a detention basin (Basin BJB) within Calaveras Creek. Currently a large portion of RCMHP is located within the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) effective 100-year floodplain. The purpose of this project is to detain 100-year flows in Calaveras Creek and to increase the capacity of both Calaveras Creek and Agua Hedionda Creek, therefore, reducing the 100-year water surface elevation within RCMHP. This report includes HEC-1 hydrologic information for the existing and proposed conditions resulting from the construction of detention basin BJB. For a more detailed description of the detention basin BJB design see the "Project Description/Explanation" sheet submitted with the SUP application. The existing 100-year discharge within Agua Hedionda Creek at the El Camino Real Bridge is approximately 10,093 cfs. The proposed 100-year discharge within Agua Hedionda Creek at the same location after the construction of Detention Basin BJB will be approximately 9,608 cfs. The existing and proposed HEC-1 output files are located in Appendices A and B of this report. The HEC-1 hydrologic workmap is located in Map Pocket 1 of this report. This report also includes HEC-2 hydraulic information for the proposed condition resulting from the re-grading of Calaveras Creek and Agua Hedionda Creek as well as the effects of the detention at Basin BJB. The proposed condition HEC-2 output file is located in Appendix C of this report. The HEC-2 hydraulic workmap is located in Map Pocket 2 of this report. See the "Rancho Carlsbad Channel and Basin Project SUP Site Plan" for comparison of the existing 100-year floodplain and the proposed 100-year floodplain.
