Cfnanro City of Carlsbad Building Department October 31, 1997 City-Wide Electric 8340 Claremont Mesa Blvd. Suite 103 San Diego CA 92111 Re: Electrical Permit CB 97-1898 The scope of the above permit was stated on the application as an "Electric Service Upgrade" (see attached copy). In fact, this flower sales roadside stand does not have an existing electrical service. Since the permit was issued under a false statement on the application, the permit is hereby revoked. No approval or electric meter release will be granted for this electric service installation. By policy, the City allows roadside flower stands in residential areas only to sell agricultural goods grown on that property. The City allows the stands not to exceed 120 square feet since residential accessory structures of that size are allowed in residential zones. And the City does not issue permits for separate electrical services to accessory structures such as roadside stands in residential zones because the structures are not normally intended to be occupied retail facilities, and the structures are not typically built in conformance with all applicable building codes. The roadside stand located at 1080 Chestnut may continue to sell agricultural products grown only on that property, but the size of the stand is limited to 120 square feet. The City will not issue a permit to place a new electrical service on that structure.
