Specify on the plans the max quantities of chemicals that will be in open use. The report submitted assumes that all the chemicals listed are in storage. The max quantities in open use are much more restrictive than the storage quantities. A. Detail exhaust ventilation system compliance with UMC Chapters 5 & 6. 1. Detail the required make-up air as per UMC, Section 505.6. The make-up air must be outside air for the exhaust hoods. The quantities quoted in the response is the supply. This supply air is recirculated air for the most part. 2. Detail the exhaust outlet clearances as per UMC, Section 609.10. EF-2 is located within 10' of existing HP and EF-1 is located within 10' of GH-1. See sheet M-4 Mechanical roof plan. 3. Clearly show the duct materials are suitable for the intended use. UMC, Section 609.1 the ducts conveying corrosives must have cleah outs every 10' and at every change in direction. 4. Clearly show the exhaust duct material and gage used for each duct size. See UMC, Table 5-8. The GA and duct material is listed on sheet M-3 but there isn't enough information on the plans to determine whether the sizing is correct or the spacing of supports required. You must include the negative pressure and the support spacing in accordance with UMC Table 5-B 5. Detail minimum duct conveying velocities as per UMC, Section 505.4 and Table 5-A.
