Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building Department, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008, (760) 602-2700. The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments. 2. Bring one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation, 9320 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468. Deliver all remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments. NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be reviewed by the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by EsGil Corporation is complete. 5. On the cover sheet of the plans, specify any items requiring special inspection, in a format similar to that shown below. Section 106.3.2. Please note on the cover sheet of the plans, Special Inspection is required. • REQUIRED SPECIAL INSPECTIONS In addition to the regular inspections, the following checked items will also require Special Inspection in accordance with Sec. 1701 of the Uniform Building Code. On the mechanical plans clearly show the limits of ceiling space used as duct or plenum. a) Clearly show that all material exposed within the plenum complies with UMC Section 604.2. "Materials shall have a mold-, humidity-, and erosion-resistant face that meets the requirements of UL 181." b) Combustibles within the plenum space must comply with UMC Section 601.3. Flame-spread index of not more than 25 and a smoke-developed rating of not more than 50. The plans show the exhaust ducting for EF-4 to pass through the plenum space of open office 211 and the environmental exhaust duct for EF-3 to pass through the plenum of the break room and office 227. d) UMC, Section 602.1 does not allow negative pressure ducts in the plenum. UMC, Section 602.1, states: "See Chapter 5 for limitations on environmental air systems exhaust ducts extending into or through ducts or plenums." And: "Exhaust ducts under positive pressure and venting systems shall not extend into or pass through ducts or plenums. Preparation of the opening shall conform to the criteria set forth per ASTM E557 "Standard Prac- tice for Architectural Application and Installation of Operable Partitions." 1.4 SUBMJTTALS A. Product Data: Material descriptions, construction details, finishes, installation details, and operating instructions for each type of operable partition, component, and accessory specified. B. Shop Drawings: Show location and extent of opera- ble partitions. Include plans, elevations, sections, details, attachments to other construction, and accessories. Indicate dimensions, weights, condi- tions at openings, and at storage areas, and required installation, storage, and operating clear- ances. Indicate location and installation require- ments for hardware and track, including floor toler- ances required and direction of travel. Indicate blocking to be provided by others. C. Setting Drawings: Show imbedded items and cutouts required in other work, including support beam punching template. D.Samples: Color samples demonstrating full range of finishes available by architect.
