' 2008 Energy Efficiency Requirements (residential)
Provide complete current efficiency compliance documentation. Project shall comply with the 2008 Building Energy Efficiency
Standards for low-rise residential buildings.
MF-1 R form shall be made a permanent part of the plans.
Cl CF-1R, Cl CF-1 R ADD, Cl CF-1 R ALT form shall be completed and made a permanent part of the plans. Compliance
statement shall be signed.
Designer's license number shall be on CF-1 R form. If designer Is unlicensed, owner shall sign compliance statement for
designer.
This project shall comply with energy requirements for the correct climate zone.
Building orientation in compliance documents must be consistent with plot plan and floor plan.
Show wall, ceiling, raised floor, and slab perimeter insulation and specify the R-value on the building sections per the CF-1R
form.
In order to accommodate the required Insulation thickness, a minimum rafter/stud depth of __ will be required.
Provide a complete fenestration/glazing information on CF-1 R form:
a. Cl Total, Cl west-facing fenestration within prescriptive maximum allowed area(s).
b. Fenestration area and orientation matching plans;
c. maximum U-factor and/or maximum SHGC.
Provide complete cool roof information on CF-1 R form:
a. Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) Product ID Number;
b. Roofing product type;
c. Roofing product weight (<51b/ft2 or ,:; 51b/ft' );
d. Aged solar reflectance and thermal emittance or solar reflectance index (SRI) and SRI Worksheet;
e. SRI Worksheet shall be made a permanent part of the plans.
Specify complete information for Cl heating unit(s), Cl cooling unit(s), Cl water heater(s) on CF-1R form (efficiency, type,
capacity/size, etc.).
Show any special features on the plans (e.g., shading screens, thermal mass, etc.)
Provide a large, clear note on the roof framing plan: "Radiant barrier Is required".
Note on the plans: "At least half the installed wattage of lumlnalres (except lighting internal to cabinets) in kitchens shall be high
effi9acy. Low efficacy fixtures must be switched separately. Lighting internal to cabinets shall use no more than 20W of power
p linear foot of Illuminated cabinet.
11 luminaires In bathrooms, garages, laundry rooms, utility room, and other rooms or areas that are not a kitchen shall either be
high efficacy or controlled by a vacancy sensor (or dimmer switch for other rooms only). Specify one of these measures for each
new or remodeled room.
Specify high-efficacy luminaires or manually switched, low efficacy luminaires controlled by motion sensor and photocontrol,
astronomical time clock, or energy management control system (EMCS) for each outdoor lighting fixture.
Note on the plans: "A mechanical exhaust system, supply system, or combination thereof shall be installed for each dwelling
unit to provide whole-building ventilation with outdoor air complying with ASHRAE Standard 62.2-2007 as adopted by the
California Energy Commission."
Note on the plans: "An Intermittently or continuously operating local mechanical exhaust system (with outdoor air) shall be
installed in each kitchen and bathroom complying with ASHRAE Standard 62.2-2007 as adopted by the California Energy
Commission. Intermittent local ventilation exhaust airflow rates shall be 50 elm In bathrooms and 100 elm in kitchens.
Continuous local ventilation exhaust airflow rates shall be 20 elm in bathrooms an 5 ach (air changes/hour) in kitchens based on
kitchen volume."

• Disturbed area is located along or within 30 feet of a storm drain inlet, an open drainage channel or watercourse, and/or
• Construction will be in mated during the rainy season or will extend into the rainy season (Oct. 1 through April 30).
Tier 3 -Significant Threat Assessment Criteria
