Two exits are required when the occupant load exceeds 30. Exits can not go through a lunch room or warehouse. • A complete description of the activities and processes that will occur in this tenant space should be provided. A listing of all hazardous materials should be included. The materials listing should be stated in a form that would make classification in UBC Tables 3-D and 3-E possible. The building official may require a technical report to identify and develop methods of protection from hazardous materials. UBC Section 307.1.6. • Exits shall not pass through kitchens, store rooms, or spaces used for similar purposes. UBC Section 1004.2.2. • Exit signs are required whenever two exits are required.
