When nonflammable supply cylinders for medical gas systems are located inside buildings, they shall be in a separate room or enclosure separated from the rest of the building by not less than one-hour fire-resistive construction. Rooms shall have at least one exterior wall in which there are not less than two vents of not less than 36 square inches in area. When an exterior wall cannot be provided for. the room, automatic sprinklers shall be installed within the room and the room shall be vented to the exterior through ducting contained within a one-hour- rated shaft enclosure.
