We also understand 'that 3/411 Gypcrete is to be used ih lieu of the specified 1-1/2" 1t, weight concrete. We do not object to the,e substitutions, provided that the following items are adhered to: 1. The 'GN' trusses are designed for the mezzanine DL, a 20 psf partition· load, and a 50 psf LL. The design should also include provision for a 2000 lb concentrated load as specified in UBC sec. 2304(c). 2. 2x blocking betwean the truss top chords is required to be installed above the GLB's and 4x ledgers. The blocking needs to be connected to the framing below with an 'A35' framing anchor at each block, or the blocking needs to be attached us ins 16d at 6" o.c. (toe nailed) . Ref details: 1/S5, 3/S5, 9/SS a. The 'LTT20' anchor at detail 3/S5 needs to be attached to the top chord of the truss. 4. At the areas with high diaphragm shears, ie where 10d@ 2-1/2"· o.c. spacing is called out, use 14 ga staples@ 1-1/2" o.c. wi.th 3" wide 24 gage metal strips at the plywood joints per APA report N370, dated April 1988.
