The existing columns currently support the overhanging roof and stqn-covered "fin" walls. The proposed construction will reduce the wall area and add lattice and signage between the column spaces. S The demand on the existing columns is currently unknown as existing plans were not available. The columns are field measured as TS 5x5x3/8. New HSS 5x5x3/8 columns will be stitch-welded to the existing. This will effectively increase the capacity of the existing structure. The revisions of the exterior walls will effectively reduce the demand. Overall, the capacity vs. demand ratio will be reduced and demand at the foundations will also be reduced.
