OWNER-BUILDER DECLARATION
01 hereby affirm that I am exempt from the Con·
tractor's License Law for the following reason
(Sec. 7031.5 Business and Professions Code), Any
city or county which requires a permit to con·
struct, alter, Improve, demolish, or repair any
structure, prior to Its Issuance also requires the
applicant for such permit to file a signed state-
ment that he Is licensed pursuant to the provi·
sions of the Contractor's License Law (Chapter 9
commencing with Section 7000 of Division 3 of
the Business and Professions Code) or thal Is ex·
empt therefrom and the basis for the alleged ex-
emption. Any violation of Section 7031.5 by an ap-
plicant for a permit subjects the applicant to a
civil penalty of not more than five hundred dollars
($500).

provisions or this permit shall be deemed revoked.

See 1979 Uniform Building Code Section 302 (d)~ Expiration of Building
Permit. "Every permit issued by the Building Official under the provi-
sions of this Code shall expire by limitation and become null and void,
if the building or work authorized by such permit is not commenced with-
in 180 days from the date of such permit, or if the building or work
authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the
work is commenced for a period of 180 days. Before such work can be
recommenced a new permit shall be first obtained so to do, and the fee
therefor shall be one-half t.he amount required for a new permit for such
work, provided no changes have been made or will be made in the original
plans and specifications for such work; and pDovided~ further~ that such
suspension or abandonment has not exceeded one year". . .
