Empowering Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to Achieve Their Vision of the Future
Our vision is to provide services and supports, structured small ratio learning and training opportunities in North County
San Diego so that adults with intellectual disabilities can continue to develop their individual interests, explore
vocational options, make social connections and broaden their community involvement. Our goal is to work with adults
with disabilities so that they can better engage in their community, access our local workforce, develop health and
fitness routines, explore and identify housing needs and options, and self-advocate so that they can meet their life
goals. Employment for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities: Because over 85% are unemployed, too many

a variety of special education related organizations, boards and groups, realized that meaningful solutions were going
to have to be provided by those who are actually living "the journey" and who love those persons in need of better

services.
Phase 2:0nce we receive the Minor CUP, we will be able to expand our services and training more directly to the
individuals with disabilities in the areas of vocational exploration and targeted job training, independent living skills,
social opportunities and community involvement. We would like to provide small group training workshops including
assistive technology for independence, entrepreneurial skills, job planning and readiness skills and independent living
skills (personal safety, budgeting, shopping, travel/public transportation training, etc.). These courses would take place
on site in small classes (we will have a 5:1 ratio) and also off site at job locations and in the community. We anticipate

opportunities. Because all of our clients do not drive, clients will use public transportation, carpools and drop off. We
will also stagger our start and end times so that we do not interfere with local traffic and our clients will not need
additional parking spaces. The current rental space is approximately 1548 sq feet and we will not be doing any
renovations or changes to the space. It now has one separate room, a reception area, one small room, a larger flexible
