Beacons is the brainchild of a group of parents who, through their participation on ,----,-------------1 a variety of special education related organizations, boards and groups, realized that meaningful solutions were going to have to be provided by those who are actually living "the journey" and who love those persons in need of better support .. While some of us may have given up on school districts and community colleges, we will never give up on our children. Phase 1 Beginning in October, 2018, Beacons, Inc. has begun consultative services for individuals with disabilities and f----i-----------+------J their families/team to develop plans for their future. The following areas of . concentration include: Person Centered Planning, vocational exploration and workplace support, assistive technology planning and IEP!adult transition review services. Phase 2:0nce we receive the Minor CUP, we will be able to expand our services and training more directly to the individuals with disabilities in the areas of vocational exploration and targeted job training, independent living skills, social opportunities and community involvement. We would like to provide small group training workshops including assistive technology for independence, entrepreneurial skills, job planning and readiness skills and independent living skills (personal safety, budgeting, shopping, travel/public transportation training, etc.). These courses would take place on site in small classes (we will have a 5:1 ratio) and also off site at job locations and in the community. We anticipate CLIENT: BEACONS, LLC. a maximum of 15-20 clients -anticipating that half of them would be using the space for consultation, courses and 7257 Sitio Lima training during the day while the other clients would be out in the field and/or on job sites during the day.
