trees, shrubs, and/or groundcovers.
A wide variety of plant materials have been included as part of this plant
legend. It is not intended that all the plant material listed will be incorporated
into the final design. The plant legend also should not be limited to only the
plant material listed, should particular site conditions require specific
attention.
Landscape finish grading objectives will include positive surface drainage (2%
grade in planting areas} away from structures and terminating in the
approved drainage system. See civil grading plan for detention basins and
bioswales
All soils will be fertilized, amended and tilled to conform to recommendations
made by a soil testing laboratory and/or landscape architect in order to
promote healthy and vigorous plant growth.
All shrub areas will receive min 3" thickness of landscape mulch or 1 ½" gravel.
All planting areas will be maintained in a weed and debris free condition.
Planting areas identified on the legend as being served by permanent irrigation, will
utilize automatic, underground, inline, drip irrigation systems or low precipitation
nozzles.
The irrigation systems will be installed as soon as practical ofter grading and prior to
plant material installation. Irrigation systems will be designed per AB325 guidelines
and be below MA WA allocation. On!y subsurface irrigation shall be used to irrigate
any vegetation within 24" on an impermeable surface unless the adjacent
impermeable surfaces are designed and constructed to cause water to drain entirely
into landscape areas.
Root barriers will be located adjacent to paving for all trees within 10' of paving
Columnar accents along north elevation must be allowed to grow verticolly and not
be pruned as a shrub.
