YardStone makes it possible for
you to plant your retaining wall
instead of painting it to make it
more attractive. The graceful
contours of the blocks provide a
natural-looking setting for col-
orful flowers, ivy or other
plants. The trough-shaped
YardStones are made of con-
crete, which when laid down
and filled with soil become ideal
planters that hold the heat and
moisture to promote plant
growth.
• Easy to install
Creative landscaping is easy
with YardStone. The blocks
readily conform to convex or
concave shapes and variations in
grade. They are easy to place,
and no mortar is required,
which makes building a Yard-
Stone wall an ideal project for
the do-it-yourselfer who wants
to work on a time-allowed
basis.
Each 70-pound YardS tone,
when placed 7.5 inches apart in
a straight line, will cover 1.25
square feet. One row of blocks
below ground level is needed
for the footing. For example, if
your retaining wall is to be 3
feet high and 40 feet long, you
will need 112 blocks (3.5 ft. x
40 ft. -;-1.25 = 112).

Small residential walls, large commercial walls, slope
stability, erosion control, drainage channels, check dams
... for actual installations as well as potential
installations, the Criblock use list continues to grow.
Built quickly and easily, Criblock typically costs
20% to 50% less than conventional wall
alternatives. Criblock has proven to be economical
for heights of 6' to 40', As height increases, price
advantage increases.

Criblock™ •
Criblock components are sized to be placed
by hand. After wall area is cut to rough
grade, Criblock crews fine grade, lay base,
and begin stacking Criblock components. As
wall goes up, work progresses from either
back or front depending on property line
and site restrictions.
Typically, base components are laid directly
on the ground. When soil strength dictates,
a concrete base can be used. Criblock
backfill can be either crushed rock or
compacted earth. Compaction is
accomplished manually using air-driver
hand-held tampers .
