RESOLUTION NO. 2007-6
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CARLSBAD TOURISM BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT, AUTHORIZING FUNDING TO IN MOTION
EVENTS FOR THE 2008 CARLSBAD MARATHON
WHEREAS, In Motion Events is a for profit corporation that produces the Carlsbad
Marathon every year; and
WHEREAS, In Motion Everto^as submitted a written request to the Carlsbad Tourism
Business Improvement District (CTBID) BoaH^jgquesting^tmding from the CTBID for the 2008
Carlsbad Marathon; anc
WHEREAS J^lfunding would be used to implement a web based advertising program
and additional prin/advertisrng||ai; the Carlsbad^larathon;
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad MaJSlton Jftracts tourists to Carlsbad and benefits hotels and
other busj^sses wraluathe boundaries of^Te CTBID;
IEREAS, provmng additional funding to increase advertising of the Carlsbad
Marathon Bom CTBID funds ^consistent with the uses of CTBID funds as outlined in the
Jsbad Mun\apal Code Seyion 3.37.070; and
fOW, THFf*6ttfRK, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad
Tourism l^^iness Improvement District, as follows:

3. That is to be appropriated from the CTBID contingency account for the
above funding.
