officer to provide adequate protection to Xife and property in the
City of Carlsbad; and
@HERES, an applicant has been chosen who meats the qualifications
and standards set by the City Com-cil and Police Chief Palkowski for
appointment to the Police Force of the City ofcarlsbad;
NOPI,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that Richard E, KoLb be employed
as a Police Officer for the City of Carlsbad for a probationary period
of six months,at a starting salary of $275.00 per month,with an increase
at the end of that period to $287,50 per nonth for the following six
montl?s,and at the end of that period to a maximum of $300.00 per
month ,he to provide all of his om equipment ,uniforms,leather and
guns,exccpt breast badge and head badge ,which will be provided by the City;
employment to begin February 15,3953,
PASSEB,APPROVED BID ADOPTED this 3rd day of February,l953, by the
City Council of the City of Carlsbad,California,by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Sutton,Ede,Castorena,Mayor McCTellan.
