HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953-05-19; City Council; Resolution 46, ,- ---------- RES 0 L U T IO I Bo. 46 WHEBEAS, at the recent League of annual meeting, held in san Diego, it was the unanimous opinion of all incorporated cities in the State that unincorporated "frbgs areas" araund cities con- stitute special problsm areas , and WHEREAS, such "fringe areasrt ape of special concern to incorpof- ated cities because they abut om city limits, and because they con- stftute temitory which, in the nom1 course of events, my be ex- pected to annex to the adjacent ciey, and WHEREAS, it is the unanimous opinion of the incorporated cities of California, as expmssgd at the recent League of Cities meeting, that the peasonable 8nd ppoper development of such "fringe areasn can be accomplisbd only if they are propeplg paarmed and zoned, 8316 WHEREAS, each of the nine incorporated cities of San Diego County considers the "fringe area" problem here to be critically acute bs- cause of the rapid growth of suburban distriets, md WHEREAS, each of the nine incorporated cities of san Diego County are sufficiently Interested in good planning and zoning for such "fringe areas" to cooperake actively in such work with tM Gaun$y Planning Co"ession and the Board of Supervisors, and REEREAS, immediate, effective aetfon by S,n Diego County to plan and zone "fringe 8reaar' would be an outstanding example of citpeounty cooperation in the interest of good govermnmcsat; now, therefore,, BE IT RESOLWD, that the Board of Supervisors of San Diego County is m3qQested to adopt by resolution a policy to adopt cumunity master plans and $0 adopt zoning ordinances for such "fringe areas" as may constitute the comnity, 8s rapidly as necessary technical work can be completed-, md BE IT FURTHER RESOLVEDs that the Board of Supervisors of' san Disgo County is requested to direct the Cowl.trg Planning Commission to pm?epam?e suck comunity master plans and. zoning ord.im.nces, in coopera- %for_ with planning colrmaissions of the neighboring cities concerned, and to submit such plans and ordinances to it for adoption 8s soon as possible. c PASSED, APPROVED AHD ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad this 19th day adip Hay, 1953, by the following vote, to-wit: AES : NAYS: None.
