that a sv.it will be filed to contest the legality of the zunicipal
corporate existence of the City of Car1sbz.d; and
TJKBZAS, the City CouncZl desires to employ the firm of O'Melveny
8c PIyers for the Furpose of d-efending said action;
NGW THZFGYGEB, BE IT 53SCLVEJ3, that pursuant to Sectlon 37103
of tke Government, Cod.e, the Sity Couutcil does hereby authorize that
a contract be entered ivlto by znd between the City of Carlsbed and
the firm of OlMelveny & Nyers for the performsnce of the required
leg'sl servlces incident to the defense of the anticipated suit.

gates itself to pay said firm of O'Nelveny and Dlyers a. reesonable
fee for the above d.escribed. legal services, the amount of s11ch
services to bit aeteraiPe3 by a bill to be later submitted by said
firm of G1Xelveny & T'lyers.
