lVHEREAS,the City of Carlsbad has need of an additional police
officer due to the resignation of Officer Richard E.Kolb,which resignation
btomes effective as of 31 August,1953; and
IHEREAS,as there has been a Police Reserve in being for sufficient
time to choose an applicant from the Reserve Officers of the City of
C arlsbad;
NOV THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED tht Reserve Officer Joe A.Castro be
employed as a Police Officer for the City of Carlsbad for a probationary
period of six months,at a starting salary of $275.00 per month ,with an
increase at the end of that period to $287.50 per month for the following
six months ,and at the end of that period to a maximum of $300.00 per
month,he to provide all of his own equipment,uniforms,leather and guns,
except breast badge and head badge,which will be provided by the City;
employment to begin September 1,1953.
