WIEmS, on the 16th day of July, 1952, the CSty of Carlsbad
was Incorporated as a Stxth Class City in the State of California;

WHE?E2lS, Lena B9. Sutton was by popular vote elected as one of
the first members of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad; and
W€IEFBAS, the organizational and administrative problems
inczdent to the original Implementation of the governmental duties
incumbent upon the City Council of the City of Carlsbad have been
most complex, and very demandzng of the time of the Counctlman -- I>
first elected; and
WHERXBS, Lena MI Sutton has dillgently and faithfully entered
upon the performance of the duties appurtenant to the office of EL
City Councilman; and, ',
WHeREb$S, the CLty Council is most appreciative of the Ugh
fidelity and acute devotlon to duty that has been exercised by
CouncSlman Sutton;
NOW THER?3FQRB, BE IT RBSOLVED, That the City CouncSl of the
CSty of Carlsbad does hereby ext;end Sts grateful appreciatzon to
Lena M. atton for having so diligently and faithfully served the
people of the City of Carlsbad.
PASSED, hPPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad, California, this 20th day of April, 1954, by the
following vote, to-wit:
