employ a life guard to insure the safety of children md adults swim-
ming at the beach; and
WHERSAS, the Parks, Recreation, Beach and Tree Commission, after
due Uvestigation and deliberation, has selected George Iqeese, Jr,,
as a full-time life guard, and recommended his employment to the city
Comoil; and
WHEREAS, the sm of q3OO.OO has been budgeted and is available
for this purpose for the balance of the fiscal year ending June 30,
1954;
NOW, TKEBEFOELE, BE IT RZSOLVED that the Cfty of Carlsbad employ
George PSeese, Jr., as a full-time life guard, at a salary not to ex-
ceea Three Hundred Dollars (@3OO,OO) for the period up to and fnclud-
fng June 30, 1954,
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 1st day of June, 1954, by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Castorena, Ede, Helton, Suttcrm , playor
