WHEREM, the Office of Civil Defense, State of California,
has furnished to the City of Carlsbad a Civil Defense fire truck
for the purpose of mutual aid, multiple fire alarms, fZres
threatening properties vital to Hational defense, important military
instalXations, parades and displays, training of regular and
auxiliary firemen, stand-by for regular apparatus wktile being re-
paired; and
kJIlEREAS the City of Carlsbad is desirous of accepting such
offer from the Office of Civil Defense of the State of California; and
WHEEiEAS, the City of Carlsbad is required to furnish liability
insurance naming the State of California as an additional insured,
MOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of
Carlsbad and the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad be authorized,
empowered and instructed to sign the agreement for temporary trans-
fer of the vehicular equipment for and in behalf of the City of
Carlsbad.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he is
hereby instructed to procure additional liability on such equipment,
said insurance to provide for bodily injury limits of liability in
the amount of $$100,00~/$200,00, and property damage limits of liability
in the amount of $5,000.00; that on such insurance policy the State
of California be named as an additional insured.
BE IT FURTHER RIESOLVED that the City Clerk, and he is hereby
instructed to procure a copy of such hsurance policy above referred
and transmit a copy of such policy to the Director of Civil Defense
of the State of California.
