2 RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE SOLICITATION FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FUNDS FOR THE CON- 3 STRUCTION OF A SMALL BOAT AND RECREATIONAL
I HARBOR AT THE MOUTH OF THE AGUA HEDIONDA 4 CREEK.

6 WHEREAS, commercial operations off the coast of California
7 have depleted and consumed portions of the marine assets of the
8 State of California; and
9 WHEREAS, these commercial operations have produced revenue
10 to the State of California, which revenue is referred to as the
11 "Tidelands funds"; and
12
13 tidal estuary which could be converted into a small boat and
14 recreation harbor upon the construction of a safe entrance; and
WHEREAS, there exists in the City of Carlsbad a natural
15 WHEREAS, more than $2,000,000, has been spent for the
16 dredging of said natural tidal estuary.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council af the
18 City of Carlsbad, that the State of California appropriate or
19 allocate from the tidelands monies of the State of California,
20 sufficient funds for the construction of a small boat and recrea-
21 tion harbor at the mouth of the Agua Hedionda Creek in the County
22 of San Diego, State of California,
23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Harbor Commission of the
24 City of Carlsbad is hereby instructed to diligently pursue and
25 encourage the passage of appropriate legislation to accomplish
26 the construction of the aforesaid small boat and recreation harbor,
27 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 11th day of January,
28 1955,
