A BESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARUBAD OPPOSING INCEASED DIVEBSION TO THE GENERAL FUND OF THE STATE OF CAzIFOIS3NIA OF OIL ROYALTIES EBCENED BY TEE STATE OF CALIFOILNU,
WHEHmS, the allocation of proceeds of oil royalties re-
ceived by the State of California is provided by Section 6816 of the
Public Resources Code of the State of California; and
WEREAS, it is therein provided that 30% (after payment of
commission expenses and other items) shall be deposited in the Genera
Fund; and
WHEREAS, it is the considered opinion of this body that any
increase in the said percentage of the said proceeds to be depositea
in the Genernl Fund would be detrimental. to the best interests of the
people of the State of California::
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That this body is opposed to
any change in Section 6816 of the Public Resources Code of the State
of California which would result in a greater portion of the oil PO$-
alty income of the State of California being diverted to the General
Fund than is now provided in the said Section 6816,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, this 15th day of February, 1955, by the follow-
ing vote:,
AYES : Councilmen Castorena, Ede, Helton, Sutton , Hayor
McClellan.
NAYS : None ,
