WHEKEAS, it hzs been deemed necessary that the City of
Carlsbad eniploy a life guard to insure the safety of children
and adults swimming at the bea.ch at the beach; and
Mi-UGGAS, the Parks, Kecreation, Beach aad Tree Comnis-
sion, after due investigation and delibera,tion, has selected
Charles Preebern as Chief Life Guard and recommended his em-
ployment to the City Council for the period of the East, *P vaca-
tion, and from June 17, 1955, to July 1, 1955, on the basis of
,$3OO.OO per month; and
WHZESAS, there has been budgeted and is avaklable for
this purpose sufficient funds to pay said salary for the period
above indicated ;
NOW, THBm?mE, BE IT RESQLVED that the City of Carlsbad
employ Charles Freebern 8s Chief Life (hard, at a salary not to
exceed Three Hundred Dollars (;j300.00) per month for the period
of the Easter vacation and fro3 June 1.7, 1955 to July L, 1955.
PASSED, wDOPTED AKD APPROVED this 15th day of Februa,ry,
1955, by the following vote:
