f,lbI?E,VAS, the need for a harbor of refuge in Northern
San Diego County has been established by the State Interim
Committee on 1,:arine Affairs; and the Corps of Engineers, U. S.
Army, has designated this area as the logical place for a
harbor of refuge in its reports of 1947 and 1949; and
WHEREAS, in 1953 funds were allocated to carry out an
engineering study of harbor sites in Northern San Diego County
but the Corps of Engineers, U, S, E\rmy, were lacking in suf-
ficient personnel to accomplish such study with the result that
allocated funds were turned back to the United States Government
in 1955;
NOW, THEREFOX, BE IT ZESOLVED that Senators Kuchel and
Knowland, and Congressman Utt, be petitioned to immediately
secure adequate funds for the Corps of Ensineem, U, S, Army,
to carry out the necessary engineering for the harbors of refuge
in Northern San Diego County.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
City Council held on thel& day of Mag , 1954, by the following
vote, to wit:
