€USSOLUTION AUTHORIZING ASSISTANT
DIRECTOK OF CIVIL DEFENSE TO SIGN AS REPRESENTATIVE OF TWE CITY FOR ACCEPTANCE OF SURPLUS FEDERAL PROPERTY ,
%“AS, on the 20th day of Rovember, 1956, the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad adopted Resolution No. 228 entitle(
“Resolution Indicating the Eligibility to Participate in Federal
Surplus Properties Programt1, which resolution authorized Herbert E,
Nelson, City Manager, to sign for and accept surplus federal prop-
erty in accordance with the conditions and regulations imposed by
the Federal Civil Defense Administration, the Department of Health
Education and Welfare, the California Disaster Office and the
Surplus Property Division of the State Department of Education; an(
‘ICmWAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad is desir-
ous of authorizing the Assistant Director of Civil Defense, Norman
D. IJhipple, to sign for and accept surplus federal property,
NOW, THEFBFO&RE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad that Norman D, Whipple, Assistant Director of
Civil Defense shall be, and is hereby authorized as the representa
tive of the City to sign for and accept surplus federal property
in accordance with the conditions imposed by the above agencies;
and
IT IS FURTER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the City Council
is hereby authorized and directed to send two certified copies of
this Resolution to the California Disaster Office for filing with
said Disaster Office and with the State Department of Education;
and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution of authorizatio
shall remain in full force and effect until amended, superceded,
or rescinded by resolution of this Council transmitted in duplicat
