RESOLUTION NO. 252
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION, DESCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY TO BE ANNEXED, DESIGNATING SUCH TERRITORY AS STSOUTH CARLSBAD ANNEXATION #1 tt, SETTING FORTH REASONS OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD FOR DESIRING SUCH ANNEXATION; AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF OBJECTIONS TO PROPOSED ANNEXATION,
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has heretofore 'received
various unofficial requests from property owners in the area pro-
posed to be annexed, to annex the lands hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has by
appropriate motion instructed the administrative officers of the
City of Carlsbad to prepare the appropriate annexation proceedings;
and
WHEREAS, the boundaries of the proposed annexation have beer
submitted to and reported upon by the Boundary Commission of the
County of San Diego; and
WHEREAS, said Boundary Commission has approved the boundaric
of the proposed annexation; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad has certi-
fied to the City Council that the territory proposed to be annexed
is uninhabitated,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
does hereby declare that the proceedings for annexation have been
initiated by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad; that the
City Council of the City of Carlsbad declare their reasons €or
desiring such proposed annexation to be as follows:
1, That the City of Carlsbad is apprehensive that
certain lands, proposed to be annexed, adjacent to
the City of Carlsbad, may be used in such a fashion
so as to be contrary to the best interests of the City
of Carlsbad.

a water service department within the City of Carlsbad,
that the area proposed to be annexed is without water
distribution facilities, and is susceptible to being
served with water distributed by the City of Carlsbad; and
That the City of Carlsbad is desirous to initiate

be in the City of Carlsbad so as to enable the City of
Carlsbad to develop a more complete master street plan
to serve the needs of the City of Carlsbad.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND FOUND by the City of Carlsbad
that the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed by
the City of Carlsbad, as approved by the Boundary Commission of
the County of San Diego, are as follows:
All that portion of Rancho Agua Hedionda, Map No. 823, on record in the Recorder's Office of San Diego County, State of California, lying within the following described boundary:
(1) Beginning at a point which is the Mean High Tide Line of the Pacific Ocean and the South line of Lot *$H*# of Rancho Agua Hedionda ;
Thence easterly on the south line of Lot "Hrl, Rancho Agua Hedionda to the west line of County Road A43 otherwise known as Road Surveys 682 and 925, as shown on the plats thereof on file in the office of the Surveyor of San Diego County,
Thence northerly along the west line of said County Road to Corner No. 4, Lot llG1l, of Rancho Agua Hedionda;

Thence southerly and southeasterly along the west line of said County Road to intersect a straight line drawn from corner No, 6 to corner No. 17 of Lot I of Rancho Agua Hedionda according to official Map No. 823, Records of San Diego County;
Thence southwesterly to corner No. 17 of said Lot I;
Thence south Oo 34' east 1319.22 feet to corner No. 7 of Lot tsFft of Rancho Agua Hedionda;
Thence north 89' 28' east 1865 feet to a point;
Thence south Oo 32' East 5480.08 feet to a point which is 1558.90 feet (deed record 1573 feet) north of the south line of Lot **€its of Rancho Agua Hedionda;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that for the purpose of identificatior
the territory proposed to be annexed shall be, and the same is
hereby designated as *'SOUTH CARLSBAD ANNEXATION NO, ltt4
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of such proposed annex-
ation be, and the same is hereby given.
That Tuesday, the 7th day of May, 1957, at the Coundil
Chambers in the City Hall, 2960 Pi0 Pic0 Drive, Carlsbad,
California, at the hour of 7:30 P,M, be, and the same is
hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing objections
to the proposed annexation, At any time before the hour
set for hearing objections, any owner of property within
the territory may file written protest against the annex-
ation, The protest shall state the name o€ the owner and
the property affected, and the description and area of the
property in general terms.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk Is hereby directec
to publish this resolution twice in the 'Carlsbad Journal and the
Blade-Tribune on April 4, 1957 and April 11, 1957; the City Clerk
is further directed to cause written notice of the proposed annex-
ation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territor
proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized County
assessment roll, at the address shown on said assessment roll or
as known to the City Clerk, and to any person who has filed his
name and address and designation of the lands in which he has any
interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk,
Clerk is further directed to cause written notice of the proposed
annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of San Diego
County; the City Clerk is further instructed to accomplish the

the directions herein contained on or before the 16th day of
April, 1957.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of. Carlsbad at a regular meeting of the City Council held
on March 27, 1957, by the following vote:
