proposed to be annexed, requesting the annexation of the lands

is uninhabited, now, therefore,
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does hereby
resolve as follows:
IT IS HEREBY DECMED that the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad that proceedings for the annexation hereinafter described
have been initiated by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad;
that the City Council does hereby declare their reasons for initi-
ating such proposed annexation to be as follows:
1. That the City of Carlsbad is apprehensive that

to prepare annexation proceedings; and
WHERFAS, the boundaries of the proposed annexation have
been submitted to and reported upon by the Boundary Commission of
the County of San Diego; and
WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of the County of San Diego
has approved the boundaries of the proposed annexation; and
W", the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad has certi-
fied to the City Council that the territory proposed to be annexed

the City of Carlsbad, may be used in such a fashion
so as to be contrary to the best interests of the
City of Carlsbad,
2. That the City of Carlsbad is desirous to initiate
a water service department within the City of Carlsbad,
that the area proposed to be annexed is without water
distribution facilities, and is susceptible to being
served with water distributed by the City of Carlsbad; and

(2) Thence Easterly on theiSouth line of Lot IrH", Rancho Agua Hedionda North 89 sst East (North 89O 55' 30"

directed to publish this resolution twice in the Carlsbad Journal
and the Blade-Tribune on June 27, 1957 and July 11, 1957; the City
Clerk is further directed to cause written notice of the proposed
annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the
territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized
County assessment roll, at the address shown on said assessment
roll or as known to the City Clerk, and to any person who has
filed his name and address and designation of the lands in which
he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk.
The City Clerk is further directed to cause written notice of the
proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of
San Diego County; the City Clerk is further instructed to accompli
