RESOLUTION NO. 278
&IESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ASSISTANT
DIRECTOR OF CIVIL DEFENSE TO SIGN
AS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITY FOR
ACCEPTANCE OF SURPLUS FEDERAL
PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of November, 1956, the City Council of the
City of Carfsbad adopted Resolution No. 228 entitled, "Resolution Indicating
the Eligibility to Participate in Federal Surplus Properties Program", which
resolution authorized HERBERT E. NELSON, City Manager, to sign for and
accept surplus federal property in accordance with the conditions and regula-
tions imposed by the Federal Civil Defense Administration, the Department of
Health, Education and Welfare, the California Disaster Office and the Surplus
Property Division of the State Department of Education; and
-&XEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad is desirous of
authorizing the Assistant Director of Civil Defense, U, NLAX PALKQWSKI,
to sign for and accept surplus federal property,
KOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad that U. NIAX PALKOWSKI, Assistant Director of Civil Defense
shall be, and is hereby authorized as the representative of the City to sign for
and accept surplus federal property in accordance with the conditions imposed
by the above agencies; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the City Council is hereby
authorized and directed to send two certified copies of this Resolution to the
California Disaster Office for filing with said Disaster Office and with the
State Department of Education; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution of authorization shall
remain in full force and effect until amended, superceded, or rescinded by
resolution of this Counccil transmitted in duplicate to the California Disaster
Office.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of July, 1957, by
the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, State of California, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Mayor Castorena, Councilmen Robinson and Helton.
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmen Baird and Ledgerwood.
